Film POP launches its 2023 program!

Film POP unveils its program of screenings and events that will take place throughout the festival, from September 27 to October 1, 2023. The line-up is sure to appeal to cinephiles, music fans and creatives of all kinds. Most films will be screened at Cinéma Moderne, and an event in collaboration with POP Symposium will take place on September 28 at Clubhouse POP. All films at Cinéma Moderne are $15.

About the Curator

Sami Zenderoudi is a filmmaker, cultural worker, and media arts teacher. He has worked in the context of artist-run centres, film festivals, gallery exhibitions, and educational institutions. He holds a Media Studies Master of Arts from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from York University. Sami’s artistic research explores metaphysical relationships with the natural world.

Film POP’s programming explores the world of music and musicians across all film genres (drama/documentary/experimental). This year we are overjoyed to present 10 screenings that merit the trip to the cinema. Don’t miss the Canadian premieres of The Tuba Thieves (world premiere at Sundance) and Mafifa (world premiere at IDFA). Other program highlights include the Québec premiere of North Circular, a documentary musical taking us on a trip along Dublin’s fabled North Circular Road, and the PHI Foundation’s guest program, Fictional Revolutionary Leaders.
